Pregnancy: Week 28

Today is the start of my third trimester, the FINAL trimester. So it should be down hill now. The big baby developmental news this week is that our daughter is learning how to blink her eyes. She is now about 2.5 pounds and almost 16 inches long. My belly button is still an "innie" although it's definitely creeping to the surface, I'm sure it will become an outtie eventually--it's just a matter of time. Same with the stretch marks. I had my glucose screen test today and everything else looks good.

Total weight gain: 20 pounds
Belly: 28.5"
Stretch marks: None
Belly button: In
Swelling: None
Heartburn: None
Varicose veins/skin tags/other horrors: None
Overall comfort level: Good

Pregnancy: Week 24

Today I had my 6 month check-up and everything is looking great. My next appointment will be the last time I go every 4 weeks, we then will be down to every 2 weeks. I'm still feeling great except I don't sleep well at night. She is moving and kicking which keeps me up sometimes. So far I haven't had any specific cravings just sweets now and again; but who doesn't? We haven't decided on a name but we narrowed it down to 3: Mercedes Lynn, Madisen Lynn & Macy Lynn. I've been leaning towards Mercedes lately but who knows it will probably change next week.

We got the crib put together and the paint bought. We are going with a vintage pin-up cowgirl theme so we are painting half the wall dark brown and the other half pink with a white crown molding in between. I'm anxious to get it done but I've been busy with painting my bathroom and kitchen.

BABY STATS:
Total weight gain: 13 lbs.
Belly measurement: 25.5 in.
Baby H/R: 153
Milestone: Saw her kick

A Kolhoss Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas. Kasen got lots of toys like this Star Wars Lego set that we managed to finish in 1 day. We all took turns playing his new WII & building the 800+ piece lego set. We also enjoyed a nice Christmas Eve dinner with the whole family in Ralph's shop with tons of food & presents. It was a great Christmas holiday, just wished my parents could have been here. Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas.
Have a safe and happy New Year!!!

Pregnancy: Week 20

Today I had my 5 month check-up. Baby Kolhoss is growing fast. She is now the size of a cantaloupe!

Baby Kolhoss gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, her taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid.

Her heartbeat is 149bpm and weighs a total of 12 ounces. The doctor said the average risk of having a baby with Down’s Syndrome is 1 in 1,667. According to how our little baby looks so far and my recent blood test, our baby’s risk is only 1 in 5,000! Such great news! They also tested for Trisomy 18 (chromosome disorder) and our baby’s risk is only 1 in 67,691! We were happy to hear that our baby's risk is so low and that everything looks great so far!

On Wed. December 9 at 7:36PM I felt Baby Kolhoss kick for the first time! We're half way there.

So far in December

We went Christmas Tree hunting (End of Nov.)

Decorated the living room tree with a "Red Theme" & Kasen's room with a "Blue Theme"

And went to a Christmas party for the cousins to exchange gifts!
